This is a faux EHG flyer I made for their annual Mardis Gras show in New Orleans. Although one of the motifs I would think of would be neon signs when I think of New Orleans, especially in and around the French Quarter, the prevailing reason for why I chose this theme was I wanted to see of I could recreate a neon-sign effect in Photoshop. Of course, as with any experiment I want to try out in Photoshop, it always ends up being an EHG flyer.
Reproducing the neon effect was a product of an absolute highlight in the very middle of the "tube" and adding inner and outer glows. The color scheme of purple, green, and gold comes from Mardis Gras and LBTR is shorthand for "Le Bons Temps Roule", Pepper Keenan's uptown bar on Magazine Street that I used to always find myself at for the weekend before Fat Tuesday. I titled it "Southern Neonlism Front" as a play on EHG's "Southern Nihilism Front."
